Transverse Strength Grading: Goldeneye, Viscan and Denscan at Arboreal
Arboreal is one of South America's leading manufacturers of Mass Timber products and the only producer of its kind in Uruguay. With the country's largest pine sawmill and a vertically integrated production process, the company transforms sustainably sourced timber into high-quality structural wood products for customers around the world. Through continuous investment in technology and innovation, Arboreal is committed to maximizing value recovery while producing timber products of the highest quality.
MiCROTEC is proud to announce the successful certification of the Goldeneye 906 installation on Arboreal's automated grading line, a strength grading solution relying on a combination of the Goldeneye Transverse, Viscan, and Denscan. This milestone represents an important step forward in structural grading technology.
This solution combines MiCROTEC's proven strength grading technology with an integrated laser capable of measuring local fiber deviation in every board. By adding this information to the grading process with Viscan Plus, the system delivers even more accurate strength prediction and structural grading. The result is improved grading decisions, increased value recovery, and the confidence that every board is assigned to the application where its properties can be used most effectively.
Reaching this milestone was the result of close cooperation between the teams at Arboreal and MiCROTEC throughout installation, commissioning, and certification. The dedication and commitment of everyone involved ensured a smooth implementation and the successful completion of this first certified installation.
We would like to thank the entire Arboreal team for their trust and excellent collaboration throughout this project. Congratulations on this achievement. We look forward to continuing our partnership and supporting Arboreal's journey towards even smarter and more efficient production.
