MiCROTEC is founded by Paul Durst, Hansjörg Thaler and Federico Giudiceandrea

1985

Ludicyne is founded by George Carman, and the Grade Mark Reader is invented

Introduction of the laser triangulation technique for 3D surface reconstruction

1991

Creation of two distinct divisions of Lucidyne: Wood Scanning and Systems Integration. Systems Integration primarily sorter controls paired with Grade Mark Reader installations

Implementation of X-ray technology for the support of image processing of knot recognition

First application of machine learning methods based on neural networks in image processing

WoodEye, a Swedish scanner producer for remanufacturing applications, is acquired by MiCROTEC

Ludicyne introduces Perceptive Sight Intelligent Grading as GradeScan's new software platform. A quantum leap in technology, Perceptive Sight uses Deep Learning AI to grade lumber, revolutionizing the industry

MiCROTEC purchases Finnish sawmill scanner manufacturer FinScan

2019

Introduction of the Digital Fingerprint concept and installation of deep learning AI into all quality scanning systems

Introduction of the in-house developed hyperspectral camera for applications to the quality scanning of wood
