With an annual softwood lumber production output of around 5 million m³, Binderholz is one of the largest timber groups in the world. The group operates over 60 production sites worldwide. For two and a half years now, a MiCROTEC Goldeneye 900 lumber scanner with downstream strength grading has been used at a their Kösching, Upper Bavaria mill – the first combination in the group. The success of this concept is demonstrated by the expansion to other Binderholz sites, including two in the US.
