Goldeneye Wide: X Timber selects MiCROTEC solutions

X Timber's overarching goal is to process as much of the local raw material as efficiently and to the highest quality possible in its own plant – with maximum yield and minimal manpower. One dream was to operate a scanner directly in front of the edger. The major challenge was to scan freshly sawn wood accurately at high speed. Today, that is possible. “A high-precision quality scanner for freshly sawn timber at that speed was a huge challenge—and now we can finally turn that dream into reality. From the beginning, it was clear to us that we could only tackle this challenge together with MiCROTEC,” explained Michael Gilli, managing director and owner of X Timber.

In addition to the Goldeneye Wide, Variosort also plays an important role in the company. This control suite sorts the boards at X Timber according to quality and dimensions.
